Homophobic remarks
[edit]ok this is subject to debate. First off, the remarks have eventually been declared non-homophobic and charges eventually dropped on 12 Nov. 2008. Second, the source quoted is a... gay magazine? Come one! Do you use Democrat publications to find quotes of Republicans? And third, he did not declare "homosexuals are a threat to the survival of humanity, and 'morally inferior' to heterosexuals". He said: « je n’ai pas dit que l’homosexualité était dangereuse. J’ai dit qu’elle était inférieure à l’hétérosexualité. Si on la poussait à l’universel, ce serait dangereux pour l’humanité […] » In other words: « I haven't said that homosexuality is dangerous. I said homosexuality is inferior to heterosexuality. If expanded universally, it would be dangerous for humankind […] » Effisk (talk) 22:48, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
- The essential facts are not in dispute. There are many refs on the French wikipedia article that can be used. Paul B (talk) 14:00, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
Notability?
[edit]Is this person even notable? Not every politician is notable enough to have their own article, and this one comes close to being speedyable. Perhaps the article could be expanded so that the "homophobic" remarks are in context of his career? -- SatyrTN (talk / contribs) 03:46, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, he is "notable". This page should probably be expanded, but I'm not sure I want to work on that.Zigzig20s (talk) 04:07, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
- This man is a member of the French National Assembly. As far as I know, we generally consider that members of national legislatures in major countries are notable. David.Monniaux (talk) 08:15, 30 July 2009 (UTC)
